This is an area in which we have practical experience and we like to think an area in which we can specialise. There are many different ways of transporting children depending on age, size and ability. The following options cover most requirements.

Child Seat - Front or rear

Perhaps the most obvious way of carrying a child. We stock seats from HiGear, Polisport and Hamax. Prices start at £20 and can go up to £100, the basic rule is - the more expensive the seat the heavier the child can be up to 22kgs (3 stone 6 pounds).

Child Trailer

Another way of transporting children is to tow them in a trailer (they can also be used for dogs). Carrying one or two at a time in relative comfort, protected from the elements, trailers have their benefits where weather can be a problem. Burley are the market leaders with prices to match! Adams - makers of the Stagecoach and Silhouette, offer more realistically priced outfits.

Trailer Bike

Once a child can pedal and balance reasonably well (from about 4 years) a trailer bike is the obvious choice for family outings. It is simply the rear half of a childs bike with a long arm which bolts to an adult bike to create an instant tandem. The Mongoose Alley cat is our best seller at £99.99p
